LOCAL DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL MEETING

“We are conducting this meeting in order to accelerate economic and social growth and development not only in the city but in the entire region as well,”Mayor James “Bong” Gordon, Jr. said during the meeting of the Local Development Council at FMA Hall of Olongapo City Hall on December 08, 2010.

As chairman of the Local Development Council, Mayor Gordon along with council members which include barangay captains , representatives of the private sector and non-government organizations (NGOs),Heads of offices in the city, discussed the annual investment programming for the year 2011.

One by one the council members laid down their plans for next year. “The participation from the private sector and non-governmental organizations in the development planning process is very essential,” Mayor Gordon said. “With the coming of SM Mall and Ayala in the city, a clear boost in the economy and tourism is at its foot. More investments mean more jobs.”

Also present during the meeting were FL Tita Anne Gordon, who is very active in promoting the programs of the city particularly the HELPS program.
