OPLAN SUMVAC 2011 IN OLONGAPO CITY ALL SET-UP

Tasked by Olongapo City Mayor James “Bong” Gordon Jr., the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) headed by Angelito Layug led the planning and meeting of various govt. agencies, departments and barangays for this year’s OPLAN SUMVAC (Oplan Summer Vacation) on March 29, 2011 at the FMA Hall.

“OPLAN SUMVAC is dedicated to maintain public safety and smooth flow of traffic and to respond and assist effectively in emergencies,” Layug said.

According to the action plan presented by the DRRMO, this year’s OPLAN SUMVAC the Central Command Post will be stationed at the Olongapo City Hall. Satellite stations will also be organized on the following pilot areas: Sitio Iram and Kalapati at Bgy. New Cabalan, Old Cabalan, Ulo ng Apo (BDO), West Bajac-Bajac (Caron St.), Kalaklan Gate and Ocean View Satellite Station at Bgy. Kalaklan and Driftwood and Baloy beach resorts in Bgy. Barretto.

Personnel and volunteers from participating organizations, city government departments and agencies will be assigned on the following stations:

“As a prime tourist destination we shall maintain peace and order and facilitate information for motorists and visitors,” Layug added.
